When I first started,
Every one was cool,
They let me in
But there was one thing holding me back
I couldn't play a single instrument
I just sat in the back
While everyone jammed
And I just felt real bad
I couldn't play a single thing
I could hardly sing
I was walking down the street
And I felt like shit
Cuz I was in the best band
And I couldn't do anything
I was basically useless
So I saw a sign across the street
It said the Bongo Brothers
What's that?
They make percussion instruments
How bout that?
I walked on in
And they made me one drum
One drum
They made me one drum
One drum
They made me one drum
One drum
They made me one drum
From there it was history
With one drum
I became useful in the band
I didn't have to sit in the back
I could play my drum on every song
I felt like one of the band
I could finally play an instrument
I was one of the band
I could finally play thanks to the bongo brothers
And their just one drum
One drum
That's all it took
One drum
One drum
It's been 20 years since that happened
And I've learned a lot about all the instruments available
I can pretty much play anything you put in front of me
I'd even say
That i'm pretty good at playing the guitar
I would even say
That I've made it pretty fucking far
As a singer in the band
Or even on the keys, I can fiddle around
I can play the bass, cuz its the same as guitar
I have natural rhythm so the drums are just fine
It's not complicated, but it works y'know
All because of one drum
one drum
If you're ever thinking about
Starting up a band
You can do it, man
You can do it, man
With one drum
One drum
Just one drum
You're halfway there
With one drum
With one drum
One drum
One drum
